Amanda and Graham's wedding at Lochgreen House Hotel

Amanda and Graham's wedding at Lochgreen House Hotel

24th November 2018

I do love photographing weddings at Lochgreen Hotel in Troon.  I was there for Amanda and Graham's wedding in May. What is great about Troon is you always have the possibility of going to the beach for pictures. What is even greater is if you have a beautiful sunset and you can persuade the Bride and Groom to escape their wedding for 10 minutes to capture the pictures in the best time of day for the perfect shot. This was one of those weddings!

I started the day at Amanda's parents house in Bothwell where all the hair and make up was happening. Amanda's Dad was on hand for the all important job of pouring the prosecco! Amanda's dress was stunning and her two bridesmaids were in a beautiful dusty pink colour that looked amazing.

The couple were getting married at St Mary's R.C. church in Hamilton. I got some shots of Graham and his best man arriving. What a stunning church it was and a beautiful ceremony. I got one of my favourite pictures of the year there of Amanda's wee nephew looking ever so slightly bored during the ceremony. Kids are the one to keep your lens on as you never know what they will do.

After the ceremony we headed to Lochgreen where we got the family shots and some candid shots of the guests outside. We did a large group shot of everyone and then headed inside for the speeches.

The speeches were fantastic with a few tears from Amanda at her Dad's speech, then a few tears of laughter at the best man's speech.

During the turn around of the room is when we headed to the beach. It had been quite an overcast day which was great for the family pictures but the sun appeared just in time for some of the best pictures of the day. I roped in Amanda's brother who was an usher to help with holding up dresses and flashes which was a great help.

We headed back for the party. The band were fantastic and the dance floor was full.

I had one more favour to ask Amanda and Graham and it was for a night time picture in the band stand. Just a perfect picture to end a perfect day! G x
