Cara and Chris's wedding photography at Dumfries House hotel
It was going to be my second trip to Dumfries House for the wedding of Cara and Chris and I couldn't be more thrilled!
With its stunning interiors and extensive grounds it really is a photographers dream. Th only problem is you want to take pictures there for hours and hours!
My day started at Cara's Dad's house where all the hair and make up were being done. I was getting a run for my money with Cara's niece as she was snapping away on her smart phone and doing a pretty good job! Cara's dress was incredible and she had a beautiful little jacket to wear on top for during the day. The bridesmaids were in a deep pink which was going to look great in the pictures.
I then headed to St Columba Church in Ayr which was at the end of the street for some pictures of Chris and all the guys. The church was amazing and the church bells were ringing which you very rarely hear these days.
Cara and her Dad arrived at the church for the start of the ceremony. The ceremony was beautiful and after we got a wee confetti shot outside (I love confetti). It was then straight to Dumfries house.
Everyone arrived for drinks in the Entrance Hall and I got some shots of the room for dinner. The interiors in this house are out of this world with an incredible Chippendale furniture collection. All the guest were invited to go on a tour of the house while Evan, the wedding co-ordinator , took Cara, Chris and I on a tour of the grounds in the Range rover (along with Andrew the videographer)
The grounds are just as impressive as the interiors with a stunning wooden bridge amongst many other areas of interest. Back at the house I took some shots of the couple in the beautiful Pewter Corridor and The family Parlour with its amazing yellow chairs. This room actually inspired me to buy a yellow sofa for my house!
It was then time for speeches and the meal in the Great Stewarts dinning room. The best man speech was hilarious when he put a bald wig on Chris.
For the evening reception everyone headed for the Pavillion for more drinks and dancing, the kids were hilarious with all their blow up guitars.
What a great wedding at such a special place.
