Wedding photography of Katie and Lee at Langlands Farm, Ayrshire.
I first met Katie and Lee at Katie's Dads farm in Ayrshire. This is where the couple were going to have their wedding reception. I was very interested to see where the wedding reception could happen and they showed me the barn. Now when I say it was a barn, it was just that. The inside consisted of exposed brick, a concrete floor and a roof and that was it (apart from a few industrial machines). When I listened to their vision of what they were going to do, I was excited and a little apprehensive that it could look somewhere that was suitable for a wedding reception.
On the day, I first had to go and have a look. Wow! What a transformation, it was incredible. What an effort Katie, Lee and their family had made in turning this industrial farm outhouse into the perfect venue for a wedding. They were helped along by Finesse Marquees.
The wedding ceremony was at the families local church in Kilmaurs - St Mary's Glencairn Church. Katie and her Dad got to the church by an old vintage car which was beautiful. If you have ever watched the old film Genevieve, well it was a car just like that which was kindly given for use by a family friend.
It was then back to the barn for the party. The seating at the drinks reception consisted of hay bales and they used the bales to also cleverly separate the space into the bar, dance floor and meal area.
Katie and Lee had also arranged outdoor games and a bouncy castle for the guests to enjoy in the grounds of the farm.
It was a really fantastic and fun wedding. It just shows you what a bit of imagination can achieve to have your perfect individual wedding day.
