Isla and Arran's wedding photography the Isle of Arran

17th December 2019

I was back to the amazing Isle of Arran for my third wedding there of, funnily enough - Isla and Arran!!

I don't know what it is about Arran but I keep getting asked back to photograph weddings and I love it.

The couples wedding was a whole weekend affair. They hired out The Arran lodge  for all their friends and family for 3 days and had an itinerary  for the whole weekend which included getting married on the Saturday and their daughter Ivy's birthday on the Sunday.

I travelled  over on the Friday and popped over to the lodge to meet Isla and Arran and to have a look at the place. All the guests were arriving to start the weekend celebrations. It looked amazing and just a 3 minute walk away from a lovely little beach. I couldn't wait for the next day!

I arrived about midday on the Saturday and Isla was getting ready with her bridesmaids. I loved that her two bridesmaids had different dresses on. Isla's dress was hand made and looked amazing with a lace jacket. Little Ivy had her own hand made dress with a touch of tartan on it.

The weather was going to be great all day so the couple opted for an outdoor ceremony. It was a beautiful ceremony with little Ivy clapping when her Mum and Dad said I do - cuteness overload!

We then had a confetti shot and then I took Isla and Arran down to the little beach for some pictures. Luckily there had been heavy rain a few days before which left a large puddle on the road. This made for a lovely reflection shot.

It was then up to the house for drinks and garden games. There were lots of kids about who were enjoying all the games on offer.

All the guests then went inside for the meal and speeches. One of Arran's mates had managed to get a video of Anthea Turner chatting about Arran. Arran had written to her years ago and she eventually replied. She even sent him a Blue Peter badge which was a life long goal of Arran's. What a hilarious moment!

It was then time for the ceilidh. Now with most of the guests from London this was a lot of fun as no one really knew what was going on - this makes for better pictures!!

What an amazing wedding. So chilled out and just a great weekend with family and friends, just as it should be! G x
