Julie and Robert's Wedding at Lodge on the Loch, Loch Lomond.

14th November 2016

Loch Lomond is truly a great place to get married and I have been lucky enough to have done over 5 weddings there this year alone. I was so looking forward to photographing Robert and Julie's wedding not just for the beautiful scenery you get in Loch Lomond but to meet their wee boy Noah, that I had heard so much about.

When I arrived I headed for the girls room where all the hair and make up was being done. I loved Julie's wedding shoes-  pink Toms. Great idea, especially for walking on the beach. I then arrived at Robert's room where I got to meet Noah. He wasn't sure of me at first and kept saying his kilt was making his bum itchy. It was hilarious. luckily he did keep it on the the rest of the day. Robert was getting a wee bit stressed as his best man was lost on the way to the hotel. He did find the place in the end.

The ceremony was to be conducted by a humanist in the room overlooking the Loch. I had my fingers crossed the rain would stay away for long enough for us to get outside. The ceremony was beautiful and not too serious as Noah decided to run about the room for the whole time which was again hilarious. I was beginning to find out he was a wee character, I loved it!

After the ceremony we headed outside for a group shot of all the guests and then I got the family pictures we needed. I got Robert and Julie down on the beach with their best man and bridesmaid for some nice shots then the rain started!! We all rushed inside which was fine as that was where the drinks were.

I captured a few candid shots of the drinks reception and then I noticed outside a rainbow and the most dramatic sky I had ever seen. I quickly got Robert and Julie outside before this amazing light and sky disappeared. I got the best shots of the day of them on the jetty. Just perfect!

It was then time for the speeches followed by the meal. Great speeches and a few sparks of emotion from Robert was just lovely. After the meal it was time for the first dance and Noah didn't disappoint me and was right there with his Mum and Dad on the dance floor.

What a great wedding it was. It will be great for Noah one day to look at my pictures and see the day he shared his  Mum and Dad's perfect day. G x
