Lisa and William's wedding photography at Glasgow Cathedral and The Corinthian Club
I was very excited to be photographing Lisa and Willam's wedding at Glasgow Cathedral. Although I have photographed events in the Cathedral, never a wedding before now.
When I got to Lisa's parents house and saw her dress I thought that it was just perfect for the Cathedral. Nothing less would do for a place like that! It was such a relaxed morning with all the girls getting hair and make up done. The weather wasn't looking too good for the day but it didn't spoil the mood.
I arrived the cathedral to photograph William with his best man - his Dad. What a place it was. It is the oldest building in Glasgow. The part of the building where the wedding was taking place was toward the back of the building. It is such a beautiful church with amazing stained glass windows.
Lisa arrived with her Dad and we got inside quick because of the rain. The ceremony was beautiful. Following on from the ceremony I got some group shots inside and then took Lisa and William outside as the rain had stopped. The cathedral is surrounded by some beautiful grounds, all cobble stoned. It made for some lovely pictures.
We then took the 5 minute journey to the Corinthian Club for the reception. Again another of Glasgows amazing buildings with breathtaking marble staircases inside. The guests then headed in for dinner and speeches. During dinner the couple had arranged for the singing waiters to perform. I love these guys and they really do entertain the guests. Many of them standing on chairs singing!
It was then time for the first dance. Lisa had changed into another dress that was easier for dancing. The dance floor was full. What a great end to a great day! G x
