Melissa and Chris's wedding photography at House for an Art Lover

8th June 2016

When I first met Melissa and Chris I was very keen to photograph their "Alice in Wonderland" themed wedding as the setting of House for an Art Lover in Glasgow could not have been more ideal. The day started at a city centre hotel to photographs the girls. it was a bit like Alice in Wonderland already as everyone was in different room in the hotel  so I was going from one door to the next. We got some great shots in the morning and I loved the bridesmaids short colourful dresses. The hair was done by Victoria at Ultimate wedding hair and the make up was done by Jen at Eye candy. Melissa had so many little Alice in Wonderland details it was fantastic. From the laces in her trainers, to charms on her flowers and a "drink me" flask. She got her fantastic dress from Emma Roy Edinburgh I arrived at House for an Art Lover to get pictures of Chris with his Bestman. All the guests were pipped in by the Piper service Scotland.  Inside  the house there was lots of beautiful Alice in Wonderland themed details including their beautiful cake by Laura-Ann McDougall – Blakes Cakes. Another detail I loved was the Lego characters on box's which contained the rings by Bercotts . The ceremony was performed by Gerrie- Douglas Scott a fantastic Humanist celebrant who I would always recommend. It was then outside for a large group shot and some confetti throwing. We then got some beautiful shots around the grounds of the venue and in the walled garden. One of my favourite shots of the day was through the flowers in the walled garden (with me getting very muddy). It was then back inside for some pictures on the balcony and in the wonderful oval room. The speeches were before the meal in the music room which were hilarious. After the meal I got some nice low light shots of Melissa and Chris and then it was party time. The band who had the dance floor full was the energetic Strange Bru. What a truly unique wedding Melissa and Chris had. It was great fun to be apart of. G x
