Sharon and Jamie's, Glasgow city centre wedding photography
I was so pleased to get to photograph Sharon and Jamies's micro wedding. Due to Covid rules they had a small wedding which suited them down to the ground. Not only was it their wedding day but it was both their birthdays! That day will forever be a celebration.
Their wedding was to be held at Glasgow City Chambers and the reception at Kimpton Blythswood Square hotel. The day atarted at the hotel in the magnificant penthouse suite where Sharon and Jamie were getting ready. What a room, it was more like a luxurious flat!
I then got myself to 23 Montrose street for the ceremony. It was performed in the beautiful ceremony room. We all then went outside for some confetti pics (I love confetti pics)!
Jamie, Sharon and I then headed to George Square and then The gallery of modern Art for pictures before heading back to the hotel. The drink reception was on the first floor of the hotel. It is such a beautiful hotel with stunning Georgian architecture and interors to match. The large Georgian windows on the first floor area let so much light in, a photographers dream!
It was then time for the meal and speeches which in the the lower floor of the hotel. This area has dark panneling and a real contrast from the first floor. I got one of my favourite pictures of Sharon and Jamie in the bar area while they waitied on the guests taking their seats. Just a quite moment between them before the speeches.
The speeches were fantastic and very funny. I caught a great moment between Jamie and Sharon during Jamies speech. Just a look for love!
As the couples wedding was just a small event and due to Covid restrictions there wasn't a need for me to photograph the evening. I did persuade Jamie and Sharon to come outside for some early evening pictures in the beautiful light. City centres are great for this. Little bits of light peeping round building for you to use. Sharon had changed into a more comfortable dress for the rest of the day and it was great to add a new element to the pictures.
Although the couple had a small wedding because of restrictions it was just perfect in every way, for them and their guests. Such a joy and privelage to be asked along! G x
