Sophie and Will's wedding photography at Ross Priory

Wedding photography of Sophie and Will at Ross Priory, Loch Lomond

30th May 2016

What a gorgeous day it was going to be  for Sophie and Will's wedding at Ross Priory on the banks of Loch Lomond. My day started by arriving at Sophie's parents house for the getting ready shots to be greeted by Sophie's Mum sewing the bridesmaids dresses. The dresses had not fitted as expected so thank god for Mum's sewing skills and the day was saved. Sophie's Dad arrived looking a bit red faced after a long run. I did get a bit worried when I saw him lying on the grass motionless but he was only doing his stretches! The flowers were beautiful with lovely little tags for each person. The were supplied by Sandra and Iona at Florette flowers. Things went smoothly after the bridesmaids dress emergency. After the hair and make up was completed by Suzanne Sophie got into her stunning dress from Accent Bridal. I then left for Ross priory and got some shots of Will and his best man Joe (his brother). Will's kilt was from  Houston kiltmakers. I was hoping the ceremony would be outside due to the stunning views at  Ross Priory and we were lucky enough for that to happen. Sophie arrived with her Dad 10 minutes early so I had to usher the guests to their seats so no one would see her. Once everyone was seated the flower girl started to walk down the aisle. I got a fantastic shot of her running towards her Mum. The ceremony was beautiful with Sophie coming down the aisle to music by Jigs Akimbo on the fiddle. Sophie's sister Rachel did a beautiful reading and the Strathclyde University chamber choir sang twice through the ceremony (nearly bringing Sophie to tears). After all of the formalities I then got a group shot of all the guests on the fabulous stairs at Ross Priory. Then it was champagne and ice cream time for the guests. Sophie and Will had arranged for a vintage ice cream cart to be present for the guests supplied by Martin at the ice cream cart company Ltd. It couldn't have been a better choice for such a sunny day. We then got some great pictures, taking advantage of the stunning views. Sophie and Will even got a shot on the swings. We then did a great confetti picture on the stairs supplied by Shropshire petals natural petal confetti. Then it was inside for the cake cutting. It was a beautiful cake supplied by Joanne at Macdonald cake company. It had on the cake  a mini lab jar and nautical symbol representing the couples professions. I took some shots of the room and there were beautiful mini bottles of whisky and vodka from the area where each person was from. Such a lovely and very personal touch from the couple. The speeches were before the meal and fantastic. Lots of laughs from the guests. After the meal Sophie decided to throw her bouquet. What a great (and very rare) thing for the bride to do. The sun was starting to get a bit lower in the sky so I took the opportunity to get some nice shots of the beautiful light. It was then ceilidh time. Lucky enough Sophie had brought her own white highland shoes supplied by Dee at Thistle shoes , so no sore feet for her. What a truly fantastic day it was for everyone. Such a joy and honor to be able to photograph such a lovely couples day. G x
