The wedding of Alyson and Dean at Culcreuch Castle
The journey up to Alyson and Dean's wedding venue at Culcreuch Castle is always a very interesting one as you feel you are driving through the Tour de France. What I mean by that is there are cyclists everywhere! It is all worth it though when you arrive in Fintry to this beautiful castle tucked away in the middle of such splendid scenery.
Alyson was getting ready at the hotel with her bridesmaids and Man of honor. Alyson was from America and all of her family and friends had travelled over to her Scottish castle wedding with her Scottish fiancee Matt. It was a coming together of two nations!
As Matt was getting ready at the hotel I got some shots of him and his brother (the best man) getting their kilts sorted.
It was then time for the ceremony which is in a building next to the castle. I got a great shot of Alyson laughing during the ceremony. I love those kind of shots! All the guests then headed outside for a large group shot with me photographing out of the first floor window of the castle.
The light on the day was just right. There was still a hint of some blossom so I got a lovely shot of Alyson and Matt framed by the blossom tree. I then took the couple down to the water for some shots and then pictures with the castle in the background.
We were really lucky to have such a lovely day so most of the guests were outside for the drinks reception. They then headed up to the building for the meal and speeches. Alyson's father and man of honour did a speech followed by Matt and his best man.
It was then time for the first dance. Alyson and Matt had practiced a routine which looked great. I loved it. The ceilidh band then started up with the dance floor full, mostly of Americans!
What a fantastic wedding day in such a beautiful part of the world. We are so spoiled in Scotland with our scenery, we really are!
