Wedding photography at Gretna Green and Loch Lomond - Ben and Charity

5th October 2014

Being a Wedding photographer Gretna Green had always intrigued me as it is so famous for weddings. So I was over the moon when I first heard from Ben and Charity about their plans for their wedding. The ceremony was to be held in the original Blacksmiths room where weddings were first conducted in the 1700's. Their plan was to find a couple of witnesses when they arrived and get married there, and then head to Loch Lomond where their close friends and family would be waiting for them. It just all sounded so fantastic. I always feel extremely privileged to be a part of a couples day but I knew that apart from their celebrant and the two witnesses (who were unknown to them until 5 minutes before the ceremony) that I would be the only other person there, quite an honour. It really was a weddng in two parts as the party at Duck Bay Marina was great for pictures. Especially when Charity fancied a paddle in the water of the loch. Being a girl from Brighton she said it was going to be no problem getting her feet wet. As Charity found out the temperature of the Loch Lomond water was slightly chillier than in Brighton. Here is how their remarkable day went:

What a great couple. You could really see the love in their eyes for each other. I would like to thank Ben and Charity for allowing me to be a part of their very intimate and special day. G x
