I was so excited to be photographing Rachel and Kenny’s wedding.
Not only were they one of the nicest couples I had met, they were inviting their dog Otis along, so I knew the pictures were always going to be fun!
The couple were having their full day at The Busby Hotel, in Busby which is in the Southside of Glasgow near East Kilbride.
After being bought over by Manor View hotels some years ago, extensive refurbishments have made this to a stunning hotel.
With a lovely secluded garden and an amazing decking which catches the sun all day, this is the ideal Scottish wedding photography venue.
Rachel, her mum and bridesmaids were getting ready in the impressive honeymoon suite which boasts its own hot tub!
The girls just had the best time getting ready and sipping prosecco.
Kenny and his groomsmen were in the bar meeting all the guests arriving.
I loved their black tuxedo suits, I think this is such an elegant and stylish look for a wedding. Very Rat Pack!
I then headed back upstairs to see Rachel getting into her dress. She was stunning!
Then came the emotional first look from Dad.
We then headed downstairs for the ceremony. Kenny was also very emotional when he first saw Rachel (I love capturing these moments).
After the ceremony everyone headed outside for a big group shot on the balcony.
I captured this from a bedroom window. I always try and get this shot. It is a picture from my own wedding that I look at often.
You wouldn’t guess this from the pictures but it was one of those very sunny/ rainy days so we had a bit of an in and out kind of day to avoid the showers and catch the sun.
I then got pictures of Rachel and Kenny with one of their favourite guests – Otis the dog.
Following the pictures on the road I took the couple and their bridal party to the gardens.
I love the gorgeous rotunda for pictures alongside the forest garden, great for walking shots.
We then headed back to the main building for some pictures of the balcony now the sun was well and truly out.
Rachel and Kenny donned some super cool heart glasses for the shots. Loved this.
It was then time for the guests to be seated.
I sneaked a picture of Rachel and Kenny practicing their first dance in the room opposite. I love capturing candid shots like this!
Rachel and Kenny then entered the room in fabulous style (with the glasses on). They opted out of doing speeches with is something I see quite a lot now.
I always say have your day your way!
It was such a beautiful May evening and all the guests were mingling on the balcony.
I got a lovely shot of the Rachel and Kenny on the balcony with the soft, warm evening light (a dream for any Scottish wedding photographer).
Rachel and Kenny then went into the evening reception to cut their cake and perform their choreographed first dance. It was superb!
After that there were loads of people on the dance floor having fun.
What an amazing day. Thanks for having me!
