Stuart and Kevin’s wedding at House for an Art Lover

The sun was going to shine all day for Stuart and Kevin’s wedding at House for an Art Lover and I was thrilled for them.

I had met this lovely couple over 2 years before their big day and I knew it was going be fab.

The weather made it a little bit extra special.

Wedding photography at the House for an Art Lover is always special, but the day started before we got to the venue.

Stuart and Kevin both wanted their preparation covered so I started my day at their flat to photograph Kevin and his nephew getting ready. I loved Kevin’s tartan trews embroidered with his initials, nice touch!

I then headed to a city centre hotel where Stuart was getting ready with his two bridesmaids, his brother and Mum.

I loved the little details Stuart had like his cufflinks and pocket watch.

Finally I arrived at House for an Art Lover. The ceremony was happening in the music room and the sun was streaming into the windows of this beautiful space.

As the guests started arriving, Kevin and Stuart wanted to light the candle of memorial and top up their quaich with some champagne, again a nice  touch!

We then headed to the Oval Room for some quick pictures before the ceremony started.

All of Kevin’s nieces and nephews played a part in the ceremony which was so lovely.

The beautiful ceremony involved a rings warming ceremony helped along with some of the nephews. This is a wonderful custom where the rings are passed along every guest for them to touch (and warm) before being given to the couple. I love this!

We all then headed outside for a big group shot and then the mother of all confetti throws.

The more confetti the better I say (as long as it’s bio-degradable!). Just look at the pictures and see what lots of confetti looks like. It’s so much fun.

After a few group shots and some pictures of Kevin and Stuart in the grounds of the venue we headed back up for the drinks reception.

As it was such a lovely day, the guests wandered in and out of the music room onto the balcony admiring the beautiful views of the garden.

It was then time for the meal and speeches which were being held in the main hall. Several people did a speech including – Kevin’s nephew, maid of honour, Kevin, Stuart, Kevin’s two sisters and a close friend. They were all brilliant and quite emotional!

As it was such a beautiful evening I took Stuart and Kevin outside for some “golden hour” shots. The sun sets to the left of the house and if the conditions are right it makes for some stunning pictures.

You have to be quick as the light has to be just right coming through the trees and it doesn’t last too long before it dips behind the trees for the night.

They also wanted a Madonna type picture on the balcony as a nod to one of their favourite movies – Evita. Why not!

All the guest then headed downstairs to the cafe area which is transformed into a dance floor/ evening space.

Kevin and Stuart cut their fabulous cake before starting their first dance. After that the dance floor was full and bursting with energy, it was brilliant.

As the evening was so lovely many of the guests headed outside after having a spin on the dance floor, to cool off.

It was a perfect end to a perfect day! Thanks for allowing me to capture it. G x
